The EMDR International Association (EMDRIA) is a professional association where EMDR practitioners and EMDR researchers seek the highest standards for the clinical use of EMDR therapy. This is the organization the certified me as an EMDR therapist and  Approved me as an EMDR Consultant.

This group promotes recovery from traumatic stress, through direct service and community-based training in EMDR for mental health workers all over the world.

This is the group that trained me in EMDR, through HAP (see above). There is a lot of information on this site about the research supporting EMDR. You can find a step by step description of an EMDR session here.

EFT (aka "Tapping")  is an emotional version of acupuncture, except we don't use needles.  Instead, we "tune in" to the issue at hand while stimulating various meridian points on the body by tapping on them with our fingertips. Clients can learn to do it on themselves to help them reach their goals faster.

I was trained by Robert Miller in this EMDR protocol that is very useful for reducing or eliminating addictive urges.  From his website: “The FSAP breaks the fixation between feeling and behavior. This fixation is the cause of addictions. By identifying the exact feeling and behavior, the fixation can be processed using a modified form of the 'EMDR protocol. Once the fixation is broken, there are no further cravings or urges that have to be controlled or behavior that has to be managed. In fact the person is able to perform the behavior as appropriate.”  I have used this protocol successfully with a number of clients.

The nation's premiere professional certification board devoted to credentialing counselors who meet standards for the general and specialty practices of professional counseling. I am certified by this board.

Information on diagnosable mental illnesses and the latest research on mental illnesses.

I was trained by Rochelle Wright to help clients heal after the death of a loved one. From her website: this therapy “includes two essential components to help patients with feelings associated with the loss of a loved one. Therapy includes repairing any unfinished business with the relationship that did not have closure when the person passed and connecting and reattaching to the deceased person in a meaningful and healthy way that is healing.“ I have found this technique very useful with several of my clients, and some come to me just for this purpose, which usually takes just one day.

This is a couple in Woodland Park that I often collaborate with, when clients are interested. From their web site: “Our teachings and healing sessions are about empowering you and allowing you to become fully present in your life once again. With your permission, we will teach you the ancient and proven methods of contacting your own personal compassionate and helping spirits who are here to guide and assist you on this earth walk. We also teach the power of word, the value of re-connecting with nature and the natural cycles of the universe, Medicine For The Earth and more.
